The STV Player is a website based video on demand service providing on-demand Scottish television streaming. The service is intended to combine network programming shown by STV, such as Emmerdale, Coronation Street, The X Factor and The Jeremy Kyle Show, plus regional programming, such as Made in Scotland, The Hour and STV Rugby, and archive STV programming, like The Steamie and High Times, on one online portal. Regional news bulletins from STV's Northern and Central regions are also available.

Zattoo.com has developed a software program that allows you to watch TV on your computer. All you need is a broadband connection and a current operating system (Windows XP or Vista, Mac OS X, or Linux). The service is legal and free of charge. As an additional option to their software version, Zattoo also offer a Web Player Beta at http://watch.zattoo.com (no software install required).
With their UK version Zattoo were forced to make changes by the official broadcasters in June 2010 and as a result BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Five channels were removed. This leaves none of the main UK channels on Zattoo UK , however ITV's Northern Ireland (UTV) and Scottish (STV) franchises, and the Welsh Channel 4 (S4C) remain available for live streaming.

You can also rent individual TV shows and whole series through the SeeSaw pay-as-you-go service. The rental service gives you the chance to but shows from other broadcasters such as Comedy Central and MTV.
